Season Update 1.17: “Freedom Fighters”
The Major July Content Update for War Thunder Mobile is now in the game!
In this update, you can expect to see the following:
- New features: Armor protection view!
- New common American platoon at Rank XI.
- Updated jackpot system and new top-tier vehicles in the ship and aircraft campaigns' trophies.
- New season of the long-term event with unique vehicles in trophies.
- New season of the Battle Pass.

Armor protection view
New tabs have appeared in the vehicle hangar in vehicle view mode (the feature works in test mode): Armor and X-ray. The Customization button still directs to the camouflage selection interface.
Armor – displays the thickness of the armor on different parts of the tanks and aircraft. You can use this information to better protect your vehicle and choose the most effective shells by type or penetration to destroy enemy vehicles.
X-Ray – displays the modules of vehicles. You can analyze where important modules are placed to better defend your vehicles or destroy enemy vehicles.
The function of firing at vehicles in the Hangar is currently under development and will appear later in this section, probably by the end of 2025.
Season “Freedom Fighters”
Complete the Freedom Fighters Season combat missions, earn War Bonds and Keys as rewards and unlock trophy containers with valuable prizes for them.
The “Freedom Fighters” season will last from July 3rd to July 31st, 2025.
The Medium Trophy contains the premium R3 T106 FA platoon (Rank VI). You will receive it with a 50% chance on the 40th attempt or with a 100% chance on the 60th attempt.
The Big Trophy contains the premium VT1-2 platoon (Rank VII). You will receive it with a 100% chance on the 14th attempt.
If you obtain both main rewards of the Medium Trophy in less than 60 attempts, you will receive 1,000 Golden Eagles as a guaranteed reward.
If you obtain the main reward in less than 14 attempts, you will receive 2,500 Golden Eagles as a guaranteed reward.
Seasonal vehicles: HMS Type 45 and Sachsen.
Medium Trophy Jackpot: standard version of HMS Type 45 or Sachsen.
Big Trophy Jackpot: premium version of HMS Type 45 or Sachsen.
Guaranteed reward: 700 blueprints for one of the seasonal ships for 50 attempts in the Medium Trophy or 14 attempts in the Big Trophy.
The jackpot can be won at any time, but only once per trophy. Once won, the guaranteed reward for this trophy will be disabled. It is possible to win the jackpot after reaching the guaranteed reward.
Once you have obtained all seasonal vehicles before reaching the jackpot or guaranteed reward, you will receive 1,750 Golden Eagles as your guaranteed reward.

- 300 bonds are awarded as a gift with the start of the Season to players at Level 3 or higher in the Tank Campaign or after at least 5 battles in the Ship or Aviation Campaign.
- Rewards for completing the tasks of the season of all three campaigns.
- Rewards in the overall progress bar of the season's tasks.
- Campaign ranking awards.
- Battle Pass rewards.
- With a chance – from the Infinite Trophy in the Battle Pass.
- Reward from Small or Medium Trophies (10 to 300 items).
- Season Offers and Store.
Ways to get keys to the Big Trophies:
Ways to get keys to the Big Trophies:
- As a reward in the Season Task progress bar;
- As a Battle Pass reward;
- For being in the top 1% and top 10% of the ship, tank or aircraft leaderboards of the Season;
- From Medium and Big Trophies (2 to 4 keys per successful opening);
- As items in special event’s store;
- Through Seasonal Offers and the Store.
War Bonds and Keys cannot be used in the next season. After the end of the current season, War Bonds and Keys will be automatically used to open the relevant trophies in random campaigns. If you want to get rewards from a certain campaign, you have to use the War Bonds and Keys yourself before the end of the season, until 10:00 (GMT) on July 31st 2025.
Leaderboards
To get into the campaign leaderboard, you need to fight at least 5 battles using vehicles from the relevant campaign (tank and ship take-offs don't count for access to the Aviation Campaign).
The rating season ends on July 24th, 2025 at 10:00 (GMT). Rewards will be distributed within a few days after the leaderboards are frozen. It’s important to note that rewards may be given out at different times for different leaderboards.
Battle Pass
Complete special tasks, level up your Battle Pass and receive rewards for your completed steps.
When you purchase the VIP pass, you instantly receive premium camouflages on vehicles from the Medium Trophies of the tank and ship campaigns, for one of the aircraft, as well as automatically completing 10 steps from the Battle Pass lineup. If you have already purchased an upgraded BP, the cost of the VIP pass will be reduced.
The unique camouflages are given when you purchase a VIP pass no matter if you have a vehicle.
Other
- The option to view and select ammunition for secondary ground vehicle weapons has been added to the game. These weapons include additional guns and launchers for unguided missiles and ATGMs.
- Battle Pass – “Finish a battle in the aircraft campaign” tasks have been added.
- The system information bar in the lower left corner of the screen has been made more readable. Please do not crop this bar when making screenshots to report bugs or matchmaking issues.
- The seasonal trophy reward system has been changed. For details, please follow the link.
- Big Trophies are now available to unlock from the first day of the new season, rather than after a week.
Announcement
On Friday, July 4th, 2025, no earlier than 10:00 (GMT), the special event “Stars and Stripes” will begin. Take part in the event, complete exciting tasks, and receive great rewards!

Known issues
- For technical reasons, the VT1-2 tank will only have one gun sight available at the start of the season. Once the bug causing the second gun sight to be jammed has been fixed, the vehicle will be fully functional.
- The Raketenautomat and U-SH 405 tanks will receive a second sight after the sight for the unguided rockets has been adjusted. This is tentatively scheduled for mid-autumn.
- There may be problems logging into the game on iOS 26 beta2 devices. We are already investigating the issue.
- The ATGMS icon is missing from some vehicles in the shell selection menu. This problem will be fixed in upcoming updates.
