Q&A

You ask — developers answer! Issue 4.

So what about aviation? Are you gonna improve matchmaking? Will you add camouflage?

War Thunder Mobile developers' answers to some of the most popular questions from players are in this article:

1. What about aviation? You promised to add it as a separate mode. Are we expecting it on January 2024? =)

As we have already answered, a separate air mode is planned for 2024, closer to the second half of the year. The development team is currently focused on game optimization, vehicle control settings, interfaces and other important tasks.

2. How do the "penalties" in the daily chests work when missing days online?

If a player misses 1 day of logins, his "N consecutive days of logins" indicator is reduced by 1 day.

If 2 consecutive days are missed, the Entry Progress score is set to the day following the closest previously earned Big Trophy.

If 3 days or more are missed, the login progress is completely reset.

3. Will there be an option to send in-game reports for offensive nicknames?

This functionality will appear in the game in the next few months.

4. Give the possibility to change camouflage on platoons or disable it. For example, many people like the native coloring on the last Japanese platoon better than the premium one, but it can't be switched after premiumization.

Camouflage changing functionality is under development. Stay tuned — this feature will appear in one of the upcoming major updates.

5. Add the ability to sell unwanted vehicles to other players or the "state"!

No such feature is planned in the near future.

6. Submarines in their current form are imbalanced. Depth bombs do not interfere with them, on the surface they run at speeds up to 107 km/h, easily evading torpedoes. And if the enemy has two submarines, especially high-speed Type-K, it is easier to leave the battle at once. Do you plan to do something about it?

And one more thing — please add more detailed information about submarines: speed at periscope and surface position, total number of torpedoes in total and in salvo, etc.

From January, we plan to deal with submarines in more detail. This applies to balance issues as well as adding information to the cards.

In one of the recent updates we increased the surface speed of submarines to make them a bit more effective. However, in a surface position they are as vulnerable as they can be — there is almost no armor, a lucky hit to their ammo does maximum damage. In addition, according to the November 8 change, when surfacing a sub takes time to prepare to launch torpedoes, so if you keep an eye on the battlefield and keep your eyes on the sub, you'll have time to target and destroy it immediately after surfacing.

As for matchmaking, work is already actively underway to improve it. We are checking your feedback on social networks, as well as battle statistics (vehicle ratio in teams, duration of battles, number of exits, etc.) and we want to adjust team selection so that the opposing teams are as equal as possible — both in terms of ranks, type of vehicle, and total number of subs in the battle. Keep an eye on the updates, we will regularly inform you about adjustments in matchmaking.

7. Please make it possible to change the number of 75mm shells on the Maus.

Currently, the ammo is given by one pack of 100 shells. Perhaps in one of the next updates we will reduce their number to 40-50 pieces.

8. Are there plans to add experience and silver boosters?

We are thinking about adding such a feature this year. Stay tuned for more information.

9. Will you be replacing repair kits, ship smokes, etc. from daily and event trophies with something?

We check player’s needs for consumables and do not exclude the possibility that in the future the filling of containers will be changed or supplemented (for example, with boosters).

10. Why in WTM, the characteristics of tanks are so different from WT? For example, we have the same penetration at 100 and 500 meters, and in PC — different. Even the shells themselves can be different on the same model.

We show the penetration of shells in vehicle cards in a simplified form (at medium range), because it makes it easier for new players to enter the game. However, penetration at different ranges differs and it is completely consistent with War Thunder on PC.

There should be no differences in the characteristics of ground vehicles — we aim for the damage model of tanks in WTM to be the same as on PC.

Please report any inaccuracies with screenshots, videos and log files so that we can fix the differences as quickly as possible.

We will add more detailed information for experienced players to the game too, along with an armor analyzer, where it is possible to fire on vehicles.

Commanders, new issues of the regular column "You Ask — Developers Answer!" are waiting for you in the future.
