[Coming soon] Baden-Württemberg missile frigate: guided shells!

The Big and Medium trophies contain a modern German frigate with guided shells!

Historical Note

The F125 Baden-Württemberg class frigates are a series of German Navy ships with the largest displacement in the world among ships of their class. They are designed to participate in peacekeeping operations, conflict prevention, combating atypical threats at sea, and supporting special forces. Their design is focused on reducing radar, IR and acoustic visibility. This is aligned with the principles of stealth technology previously used in the German Navy. An important feature is their ability to be deployed for long periods of time — up to two years away from base, including operation in tropical conditions.

The initial order for four frigates was placed in 2007. The ships were commissioned between 2019 and 2021. Currently, all Baden-Württemberg ships are in service with the German Navy.

The Baden-Württemberg frigate will be a top-tier newcomer for Germany in the next War Thunder Mobile update! Guided missiles and — for the first time in the game — guided cannon shells! Let's take a look.

Baden-Württemberg has only one type of missile in service: the well-proven RGM-84 Harpoon anti-ship missile. With reliable targeting and high damage, these are very effective missiles. Unlike many other missile ships, this one also has artillery weapons, and quite substantial ones – an self-loading 127-mm gun mounted on the bow. Not a bad argument against similar missile ships encountered at close range between islands!

However, the special guided shells for this weapon are much more interesting! The new shells will adjust their trajectory to hit the exact module of the enemy ship you are targeting.

Important: To aim shells at modules, you need to keep the enemy ship in your sights, or even better, aim directly at the module.

The frigate Baden-Württemberg is the largest modern ship of its class. The difference is not significant, but it is still more noticeable among other missile ships in the game — keep this in mind when planning your route. The ship has average mobility: it does not break any speed records, but it does not lag behind the rest of the fleet either. Its speed and turning radius allow it to maneuver between cover, popping out for surprise attacks.

As a jackpot or as a random reward when attempting to open the Medium Trophy.
Order vehicles for Silver Lions after collecting 1,000 blueprints.

Ways to get blueprints:

In Medium Trophy: 700 pcs in the guaranteed reward, or 10 to 100 pcs per attempt.
In Big Trophy: 700 pcs in the guaranteed reward, or 80 to 200 pcs per attempt.
In the in-game store: purchase for Silver Lions a Folder with a number of blueprints (even after the season ends).
