Historical note

In the course of work on the AMX-50 family of armored vehicles, a prototype of a self-propelled unit with a 120-mm gun for direct support of a tank group appeared. The powerful gun on the vehicle exceeded the firepower of tank guns, and the reinforced frontal armor was to ensure high survivability of this vehicle in battle.

AMX-50 Foch was demonstrated during a military parade in Paris on July 14, 1950. However, work on this project was soon terminated, and the tank destroyer was not accepted into production.

The AMX-50 Foch combines such important qualities for a tank destroyer as high firepower, good mobility and reliable armor. Let's get acquainted!

The main armament of the AMX-50 Foch will be a long-barreled 120mm cannon, specially designed for the AMX-50 series of vehicles. The gun is very accurate, with high muzzle energy.

Two types of ammo will be available for the commander to choose from: APBC shells with very high armor penetration, and HE shells with a high explosive charge.

In the case of the AMX-50 Foch, it is useful to take both types of shells into battle: APBC usually has no problem to penetrate any enemy or even several of them, and the HE shell copes well with lightly armored vehicles.

Special attention in the development of the tank was paid to sufficient thickness in the front armor plate. AMX-50 Foch is good at withstanding hits from kinetic shells, but HEAT shells, which are already encountered at Rank VI, can cause problems. With a lot of weight and large dimensions, Foch is quite agile machine and not inferior in speed to medium tanks.

Another tank from the AMX-50 family. This time it is a large medium tank with an oscillating turret and drum-type loader for the main 90mm gun. High reload speed, decent damage and good mobility!

This wheeled tank has a reverse gearbox- reverse speed is the same as forward! Fast, dynamic scout with 90 mm gun and penetrating HEAT shells.

TPK 6.41

A twin-barreled 20mm SPAAG in the back of an army hauler. The TPK 6.41 is a fast wheeled vehicle with fast-firing 20mm autocannons. They are good against aircraft and can be used against light armored vehicles as well, though the hull has to be rotated a bit.
