[Event] Operation “General Rumyantsev”

An exciting event with interesting tasks in War Thunder Mobile!

Commanders! We invite you to take part in a special event dedicated to one of the most important stages in the history of Eastern Front (World War II) – the end of the Battle of Kursk!

Event dates: 🚩 August 22nd – August 28th (ends at 10:00 GMT).

Join the themed event and receive 230,000 Silver Lions in total, a supply of boosters and Back-Ups, as well as unique avatar!

Tasks

The event will last for 7 days. Nine tasks will be available from the start of the event. Complete tasks, fill the progress bar, and receive the main event reward – a memorable “Kursk Tankman” avatar.

The tasks can be completed for Golden Eagles.

Please note that after the end of the event, it will not be possible to obtain themed decorative rewards.

Historical Note

August 23rd, 1943 marked the end of the Battle of Kursk – the largest tank battle in history, with around 3000 tanks from the German side and over 5000 tanks from the Soviet side. It was the first time a German offensive on the Eastern Front failed with no significant gains.

The decisive victory of the Red Army led to it gaining a strategic initiative and defined the way the rest of the war was fought.

On August 3rd, 1943, the Battle of Kursk entered its final phase: the Red Army launched the Belgorod-Kharkov offensive, known as Operation Rumyantsev. By August 5th, Belgorod had been liberated, and on August 23rd, the Kharkov region was also liberated.
