Historical note

One of the experiments conducted by American tank designers at the end of World War II was a prototype that combined the chassis of the mass-produced M4 Sherman with the turret of the promising T26 (the future M26 Pershing). The project was initiated by Chrysler, which sought to quickly increase the firepower of its tank units without completely replacing its fleet of vehicles.

The main idea was to use the proven and widely used Sherman chassis with its high maintainability and well-engineered design in combination with a new turret armed with a 90 mm M3 gun. This bigger gun could effectively deal with German Tigers and Panthers. A prototype of this hybrid was assembled in 1944, but it never went into production.

M4/T26

Meet the new premium armored platoon for the US, led by the experimental M4/T26 — a Sherman with a Pershing turret! This hybrid will be an interesting option for fans of unusual vehicles. It retains the recognizable features of the Sherman, but gains a whole new level of firepower.

The main advantage of the M4/T26 is its 90 mm gun, which allows it to effectively combat even heavy enemy tanks. Its best round is the APCBC shell, which has very good armor penetration and is excellent against most opponents!

Along with an effective weapon, M4/T26 commanders will also enjoy the Pershing’s turret, which is excellently armored, especially in the gun mantlet area. The best tactic when using the M4/T26 is to play to the strengths of the turret. Try to hide the hull behind low cover and engage your enemies by only showing the turret, and take enemies out with the deadly APCBCs!

T26E5

This is a heavy version of the Pershing and a highly effective assault tank for urban combat – slow but well-protected, with an effective 90 mm M3 gun.

T28

This tank destroyer was designated as an “ultra-heavy tank” in official documentation, and it truly is! A powerful self-propelled assault gun with unmatched frontal armor!

Skink

A SPAAG based on the Sherman chassis. Perhaps the most heavily armored SPAAG in the game. Instead of a tank gun, the Skink is equipped with four rapid-fire 20 mm cannons and effectively destroys both aircraft and light armored vehicles!
