Historical note

The powerful chassis of the German Panther medium tank allowed the long-barreled 88mm Pak43 gun to be deployed while keeping a high protection level to create a new tank destroyer that could effectively counter the latest Allied tanks. The new Jagdpanther became available to the Wehrmacht in early 1944 and actively participated in battles until the end of the World War II. Some of the vehicles were equipped with improved radio systems and were intended for commanders of tank fighter formations - such vehicles were designated as Befehlswagen Jagdpanther.

The Bfw. Jagdpanther G1 is a commander's version of tanks of early versions, which will appear on the V rank of German armored vehicles in the upcoming seasonal update of War Thunder Mobile. The vehicle is one of the best representatives of German tank destroyers – a destructive gun, good defense and high mobility.

Bfw. Jagdpanther G1

The Pak43 88mm gun is considered to be the best gun of this caliber in the game. The 71-caliber barrel has a very high muzzle energy, allowing for accurate firing at long ranges and endowing the projectiles with high penetration power. The commander's choice of Bfw. Jagdpanther will have several types of rounds available, including the effective HEAT, APCBC and APCR.

The Bfw. Jagdpanther G1 is quite well protected, especially in the front projection. The upper frontal part of the hull, located at an acute angle, meets enemy projectiles – very few projectiles can penetrate such a defense, and only at close ranges. In most cases, enemy shells will simply ricochet off the angled armor of the Bfw. Jagdpanther G1 without causing any damage. The sides and lower frontal part are less protected, but are quite good enough to withstand hits of small caliber autocannons.

What is particularly pleasing is that this massive looking vehicle has excellent running characteristics - in fact, the Bfw. Jagdpanther G1 is one of the first in battle to take the most favorable sniper positions.

The teammates of the Bfw. Jagdpanther G1 platoon partners will be two more excellent German “cats” and an anti-aircraft vehicle, proven in many battles.

Panther A

Panther A is one of the versions of the legendary medium tank of the Wehrmacht. The tank is fast, has a very strong hull forehead, armed with an excellent gun with good penetration. The commander should remember about the vulnerable sides of the Panther and the low reverse speed. Otherwise, it is one of the best medium tanks in the game!
