[ANNOUNCEMENT] New Season Meta!

Announcement of changes to how top seasonal vehicles are obtained, and details of the new in-season meta.

Commanders! We are updating the system for obtaining seasonal rewards. The season's main prize can now be earned with certainty – no luck required. Trophies remain and will continue to offer valuable rewards, but the primary goal now awaits you on the General Staff's Maps.

The first season under the new meta commemorates the launch of Voyager-1 on September 5, 1977 at 12:56 MSK – the legendary space probe sent to explore the outer reaches of the solar system. In the spirit of those pioneers, we will chart routes across uncharted maps, gathering invaluable intelligence along the way.

The season's main reward no longer depends on chance: your goal and the full route to it are visible from the start. Every completed task is a step forward along the front line. Explore, complete assignments, collect Trophies, and lead your squad to the final reward.

New System: From Progress Bar to Maps

First, a reminder of the key change. The old system – a linear progress bar with task sets that dispensed currency for opening random Trophies – is gone.

In the new season "Final Frontier", we introduce tactical reconnaissance maps.

Here is how it works: the season window gives you access to a map consisting of several pages – four in this season. Each point on the map represents a specific milestone. To pass a milestone, you spend Floppy Disks, a resource earned through in-game activity.

Map points come in three types:

  • Empty points: Contain no intelligence of value to headquarters and carry no reward, but open the path to further milestones. Cost: 1 Floppy Disk.
  • Valuable points: Contain intelligence for which the General Staff issues a reward – such as Season Bonds. Cost: 3 Floppy Disks.
  • Key points: Contain the most critical intelligence – the very reason the reconnaissance was organized. Unlocking these requires both Floppy Disks (usually 5) and the completion of a combat task. The rewards here are the most significant, ranging from Silver Lions and Golden Eagles to blueprints for the season's top vehicle.

How does it work in practice?

Map exploration is sequential – you cannot advance to the fourth page without unlocking the "exit point" on the previous one. Within each page, however, you have complete freedom to choose your own route. Want the most direct path to the main prize? Cut straight through empty points. Want to maximize resources? Explore every branch. You can always return to a completed map and clear previously skipped points to collect any missed rewards.

Example

What does fully exploring all four maps provide?

By completing the entire route and exploring every point, commanders are guaranteed to receive a substantial stock of rewards:

  • 2,550 Season Bonds;
  • 2 Keys;
  • 216,000 Silver Lions;
  • 450 Golden Eagles.

The main reward is 1,000 blueprints for the current season's top vehicle.

Where do Floppy Disks come from?

Floppy Disks are the resource that powers your progress through the map. They can be obtained from two sources:

  • Daily tasks: Complete them to earn 4 Floppy Disks per day.
  • Season tasks: Complete these over the course of the season to earn an additional 60 Floppy Disks.

In total, a player can earn up to 172 Floppy Disks per season – more than enough to complete the map, even accounting for route detours.

If you need to accelerate your progress, Floppy Disk bundles can be purchased through the dedicated menu by tapping the "+" icon next to the currency display in the map interface.

What has changed in the Trophies?

Trophies remain in the game, but their contents and reward logic have been adjusted to reflect the new meta.

  • Small Trophy: No changes.
  • Medium Trophy: The "guaranteed" 700-blueprint reward has been removed, but the Jackpot remains – and it can now drop an unlimited number of times per season. The Jackpot contains a top-tier vehicle in its standard configuration. The main season vehicle is the exception: it is awarded only for completing the maps. Outside of the Jackpot, the Medium Trophy drops top-tier blueprints, Keys, Golden Eagles, boosters, and decals.
  • Big Trophy: The Jackpot also now available an unlimited number of times per season – contains top-tier premium vehicles. As with the Medium Trophy, the main season vehicle does not drop from the Jackpot. However, the premium version of the season's top vehicle can be obtained simply by opening the Big Trophy, alongside other rewards including blueprints, Golden Eagles, Keys, decals, and boosters.

Important: The chance of obtaining the premium season vehicle has been significantly increased compared to the previous Big Trophy.

Please note:

  • The Jackpot from each type of Trophy can be obtained an unlimited number of times per season.
  • After receiving a Jackpot, you can continue opening Trophies in any campaign for other rewards.
  • At the start of the next season, the top vehicle will change, and the current season's vehicles will move to the Jackpots of the Medium and Big Trophies respectively.

Battle Pass of the Season

The Battle Pass is not going anywhere. It continues to offer unique camouflages, decals, Bonds, Keys, and other valuable rewards, with its mechanics remaining unchanged.

Season Bonds can be obtained through the Personal Pass, by participating in events, by purchasing them at a discount in the store, or by acquiring sets for Platinum Wolves – tap the "+" next to the currency icon to get started.

Commanders, the new system is designed so that every battle carries real weight and the path to your desired vehicle is transparent and straightforward. Study the maps, choose optimal routes, and take the fight to your enemies on all fronts.

Good luck in battle, Commanders – we look forward to your victories in the skies, on the ground, and at sea in War Thunder Mobile (WTM)!
