[Coming Soon] Ghosts of the Sandy Shores
A new map for naval battles – a sprawling archipelago with the ruins of ancient forts.
Sandy Shores
Aesthetics
The salt-laden wind drives waves between the sandy islands scattered across the azure expanse. In the distance, a gentle coastline rises, giving way to picturesque mountains. This place seems made for peaceful idleness, but the silence is broken by the distant rumble of cannon fire. Here, on the Sandy Shores, naval giants will converge in battle.
The new map prepares commanders for a true test of tactical flexibility! Across the azure vastness, more than a dozen sandy islets are scattered here and there.

Some are mere sandbars, offering no cover and completely exposed to enemy fire. Others are true stone fortresses, with towering cliffs and the thick walls of old forts. Half-ruined towers with embrasures, fortress walls and observation posts all go back to a time when these islands were an impregnable bastion.

And on the far shore, like a mirage, the whitewashed buildings of coastal settlements appear, with their bright awnings and tents. It seems their inhabitants have only just left their homes and are about to return to resume their tranquil lives.
Nature here is generous with contrasts: the yellowness of the sandy beaches and dry grass is offset by vivid patches of greenery. Low palm trees and large, sprawling deciduous trees add life to the landscape, while the play of light on the water and in the sky – especially at dawn or dusk – makes every battle on the Sandy Shores truly atmospheric.

Tactics
Sandy Shores is a proving ground for tacticians. The map punishes carelessness and richly rewards those who know how to read the terrain.

Large rocks and fortress walls will serve as your reliable protection. The larger islands create blind spots where the enemy cannot draw a bead on you without a direct line of sight. Use this to maneuver and launch surprise attacks, outflanking the enemy from the rear. But remember, a single misjudgment of your vessel's size, and your stern or bow will become the perfect target.

Always keep an escape route in mind, a path that allows you to retreat under the cover of walls or cliffs for repairs. Don't hesitate to use smoke screens to confuse the enemy and buy yourself some time.
Join naval battles on the new map! May fortune favor you, and may your steady aim and knowledge of the terrain lead you to glorious victories in War Thunder Mobile (WTM)!
