[Coming Soon] Fw 190 A-5/U12: stream of fire

Historical Note

In the late autumn of 1942, one of the most mass-produced modifications of the Focke-wulf fighter, the Fw 190 A-5, appeared. Its main distinguishing feature was a redesigned motor mount. Thanks to this, the engine was shifted slightly forward, and the changed center of mass allowed to increase the payload. Aircraft of this modification were delivered to all theaters of war, where Luftwaffe units fought.

Based on this model, a variety of both field and factory equipment variants emerged. One of the factory conversion kits was the Umrüst-Bausatz 12 variant. It consisted of two underwing nacelles with a pair of 20mm Mauser MG.151/20 cannons in each.

In battle

The tough, fast, heavily armed Fw 190 A-5/U12 is ready to drop from the heights onto hapless opponents who don't look up. The Fw 190 A-5/U12 is armed with a pair of machine guns and two 20mm cannons – not a bad arsenal!

The pilot is able to significantly increase the aircraft's firepower by installing a pair of suspended cannon pods with two cannons each. As a result, we get a fighter with a high salvo density and a large ammo capacity, which is effective in shooting down airplanes of any size even at considerable distances.

In the game on the Fw 190 A-5/U12, pilots will find all the unique advantages of this series of aircraft: very high speed in dive, excellent turn performance, confident controls at high speeds – in short, all the advantages for hunting from high altitude. The disadvantages are also characteristic of other Fw 190 fighters: rapid loss of power in a horizontal turn and poor speed at low altitude.

Try to take the height at the beginning of the battle, keep an eye on the situation around you and attack any hesitant enemies from above. Excellent speed and powerful armament will help you “cut off” any enemy in one attack!

The Premium variant of the ♠Fw 190 A-5/U12♠︎ is an extra plane for your roster! The premium aircraft maintains the same performance as the standard variant, though it comes in a unique camouflage. With the premium aircraft, you’ll be able to enjoy faster Silver Lion and Research Point gains, and earn some Golden Eagles in your battles.

If you’re lucky enough to unlock both the premium and the standard variants, you will be able to use them both in the same battle!

To unlock the standard aircraft, you need to collect 1,000 blueprints.

Here’s how you can get them:

In Medium Trophy: Chance to receive 700 aircraft blueprints in the jackpot, or 10 to 100 per attempt. Each attempt also grants a small chance to unlock the aircraft instantly.
In Big Trophy: Chance to receive 700 aircraft blueprints, or 80 to 200 blueprints per attempt.
Via the in-game store: Getting the Blueprints Folder for Silver Lions grants a chance to receive some blueprints for the standard variant even after the season ends.
