Historical note

HMS Centurion was the second of four King George V-class dreadnoughts constructed for the Royal Navy in the early 1910s. During World War I, her involvement in combat was limited, including a nominal role in the Battle of Jutland, where she fired just four salvos. By late 1919, HMS Centurion was reassigned to the Mediterranean Fleet. In 1924, she became the flagship of the Reserve Fleet. Two years later, in 1926, Centurion was converted into a radio-controlled target ship, playing a key role in bomber trials and other exercises.

During World War II, HMS Centurion was refitted with light armament and converted into a decoy ship, with its main guns replaced by dummy replicas. In 1942, the ship was deployed to the Mediterranean Sea to escort a convoy to Malta, but the Italians quickly uncovered the ruse. Later, during the Normandy landings in 1944, Centurion was intentionally sunk off the coast to serve as a breakwater.

HMS Centurion (Rank III)

The battleship HMS Centurion, a classic example of British dreadnought design, will join the Royal Navy at Rank III. It features a traditional layout with formidable 343 mm main guns mounted in five twin turrets: two at the bow, two at the stern, and one centrally positioned on the deck.

The auxiliary armament consists of 16 single-mounted 102 mm guns. Additionally, three torpedo tubes will enhance the ship's offensive capabilities, posing a significant threat to its enemies.

HMS Centurion boasts excellent protection, but the weight of its armor and armament affects its mobility – it is slow, lacks dynamic agility, and has a slow turning rate. In battle, it deals consistent damage and can endure prolonged enemy fire. However, it cannot quickly retreat behind an island for repairs, making smoke screens essential for cover. Additionally, enemy aircraft pose a significant threat, as the dreadnought lacks air defense equipment.
