[Coming Soon] 2S19M1 “Msta-S”: Lethal Force

🧰 The Big Trophy contains a Rank VII Soviet platoon led by one of the best self-propelled howitzers of its time!

2S19М1 Platoon (Rank VII)

Historical note

Development of the 2S19 Msta-S self-propelled howitzer began in 1976 with the participation of leading design bureaus in the USSR. The first prototype appeared in 1983, and after intensive testing in 1989, the vehicle was accepted into service. The new SPH was distinguished by its increased firing range and improved accuracy. Unfortunately, problems with the fire control system were discovered during operation. This led to the creation of upgraded versions, the 2S19M1 and 2S19M2, with digital equipment and automated guidance systems.

The Msta-S became one of the key artillery systems not only in Russia, but also abroad – these self-propelled howitzers were supplied to Venezuela, Azerbaijan, and Ethiopia, and remained in service in Ukraine and Georgia after the breakup of the USSR.

2S19М1

A new premium platoon of Soviet armored vehicles will be led by the modern 2S19M1 "Msta-S"self-propelled artillery system, one of the best SPH in the world. With a long-barreled 152 mm gun with automatic loading, a wide range of available shells, and excellent dynamics, the Msta-S will become your favorite vehicle in this class!

The main feature of the vehicle will be its 152 mm 2A64 howitzer with an automatic loading system, which provides the vehicle with a high rate of fire and a very diverse ammunition load. The SPH has several types of shells in its arsenal: standard HE shells (with an explosive weight of up to 11.7 kg in TNT equivalent), HE-VT for destroying openly deployed unarmored or lightly armored vehicles, HEAT shells for fighting armored vehicles, and APHEBC. The commander can quickly select the best type of shell for any combat situation!

The Msta-S chassis is based on the T-80 and T-72 tank, but with significantly lighter armor to reduce overall weight. Its powerful multi-fuel diesel engine gives it good mobility, comparable to modern main battle tanks. However, its extremely low reverse speed is a serious limitation, preventing it from quickly getting out of fire.

The main drawback of the Msta-S in the game is its extreme vulnerability. Its light bulletproof armor only protects against rifle-caliber machine guns. At the same time, any weapon with a caliber of 20 mm or higher poses a deadly threat. Its huge size and distinctive silhouette make it an excellent target for enemy aircraft — it's not easy to hide the Msta-S. To fight successfully with the 2S19M1, commanders need to carefully choose positions with sufficient cover. When used correctly, this SPH can be a formidable support weapon or an excellent lone sniper!

What other vehicles are available in the new Rank VII platoon? Just read on to find out!

T-54 (1951)

A classic medium tank from the Cold War era. The 1951 model T-54 with a smooth dome-shaped turret is a true all-rounder in battle, combining decent protection, good firepower, and very impressive dynamics!

Object 906

A light, mobile tank with an 85 mm gun. It is the best choice for reconnaissance, quickly capturing empty points and surprising the enemy with sudden attacks from the flank.

M53/59

This Czechoslovakian SPAAG mounted on a Praga truck chassis with two 30 mm fast-firing cannons will cover your teammates from the air and engage ground vehicles. Its effective armor-piercing shells can even hit tanks and heavy howitzers!
