[Coming Soon] HNLMS Tromp: A Cold War Flagship

The Big and Medium Trophies contain a Dutch guided-missile frigate with three types of missile armament.

Historical note

The frigate HNLMS Tromp (F801) was the lead ship of its class in the Royal Netherlands Navy. Its keel was laid on August 4th, 1971, it was launched on June 3rd, 1973, and commissioned on October 3rd, 1975. During its service, the ship performed various duties, including ceremonial functions and participation in international exercises. In 1986, the frigate was part of the standing NATO squadron STANAVFORLANT. Notably, during this same period, the future King of the Netherlands, Willem-Alexander, served aboard it.

In 1999 after 24 years of service, the ship was decommissioned and later scrapped. HNLMS Tromp (F801) was more than just a ship; it was a symbol of the technological advancement of the Dutch fleet during the Cold War, one of the first of a new era of powerful multi-role frigates with advanced air defense systems.

In battle

The Dutch guided-missile frigate HNLMS Tromp will join the German fleet in War Thunder Mobile! This versatile ship with powerful armament will excel both in defense and ambush tactics, as well as in offensive operations as part of a squadron.

HNLMS Tromp will be the first ship in the game armed with three distinct types of missiles. Its primary striking power comes from the reliable Harpoon anti-ship missiles, known for their long range and powerful warheads. They are complemented by less destructive but high-speed Standard Mk.13 and RIM-7 Sea Sparrow surface-to-air missiles.

However, HNLMS Tromp's arsenal is not limited to missiles. Mounted on the bow is a twin 120 mm Bofors automatic gun – the perfect weapon for duels with other missile ships at medium and close range. For close-quarters combat, the frigate is equipped with two triple-tube deck-mounted launchers with 324 mm torpedoes.

HNLMS Tromp is not the fastest ship in the game, but it has good maneuverability. This allows it to operate effectively alone, using terrain features like icebergs, rocks, and islands for cover. At the same time, the frigate will be extremely useful in the heart of a squadron, where, shielded by more durable allies, it can eliminate high-priority targets and intercept enemy missile salvos.

This ship is capable of great things! HNLMS Tromp grants its commander the freedom to choose all kinds of tactics, and in skilled hands, it will reveal its full combat potential!

Premium version of the HNLMS Tromp (Rank VI)

In the Ship Campaign, only one ship can be taken into battle. Because of this, the Premium version of any ship is not a separate unit, but it completely replaces the standard “gray” version. After obtaining the premium version, the blueprints for the standard version of the ship will disappear from the store and trophies, and the ship itself will become unavailable in trophies and jackpots.

Differences between the Premium and Standard versions:

the ability to get gold after a battle, according to the daily limit;
unique premium camouflage;
fully unlocked upgrades in the Arsenal;
the ship gets the maximum crew level immediately.

Premium version of the vehicle:

As a jackpot or as a random reward when attempting to open the Big Trophy.
By reaching the top-10 in the relevant Leaderboard.
From the Collector's Trophy after adding the vehicle to this trophy type;

Standard version of the vehicle:

As a jackpot or as a random reward when attempting to open the Medium Trophy.
Order vehicles for Silver Lions after collecting 1,000 blueprints.

Ways to get blueprints:

From the Medium Trophy: 700 pcs in the guaranteed reward, or 10 to 100 pcs per attempt.
From the Big Trophy: 700 pcs in the guaranteed reward, or 80 to 200 pcs per attempt.
In the in-game store: purchase for Silver Lions a Folder with a number of blueprints (even after the season ends).
