[Coming Soon] Project 11540: "Uran" from the Baltic

The Big and Medium Trophies contain a Russian missile frigate with powerful AShMs and weak armor.

Historical Note

Project 11540 patrol ships are Russian multi-purpose frigates designed for operations in coastal, deep-sea, and oceanic zones. Their roles include searching for and tracking enemy submarines, providing anti-submarine and anti-ship defense for naval formations, striking ground and surface targets, and supporting amphibious operations and ground forces.

Three hulls were laid down under this project, but only two were completed and commissioned: Neustrashimy (entered service in 1993) and Nepristupny (later renamed Yaroslav Mudry) which was commissioned in 2009. Both ships remain in active service today as part of the Baltic Fleet of the Russian Navy.

Brief Overview

Strengths: equipped with powerful “Uran” anti-ship missiles, supplemented by “Kinzhal” missiles and torpedoes for close-range combat.
Weaknesses: low survivability and average mobility.
Role in battle: a missile frigate armed with extremely powerful AShMs, best suited for engaging from cover at long range.

In battle

The new Soviet/Russian missile ship, Pr. 11540, will be the second missile boat in War Thunder Mobile equipped with the powerful Kh-35 “Uran” anti-ship missiles.

Like the Pr. 1155, already familiar to experienced commanders, the new ship’s primary missiles have relatively low speed but deliver massive damage against any target. Its secondary armament consists of fast “Kinzhal” missiles. Each salvo from the Pr. 11540 includes eight missiles: four “Uran” and four “Kinzhal.”

For close combat, the ship uses 533 mm torpedoes fired from deck-mounted, non-traversable tubes fixed along its direction of travel. It launches three torpedoes per salvo.

The Pr. 11540 does not set speed records, but its seakeeping is solid. The ship maneuvers effectively between cover, launching missile strikes and repositioning before the enemy can return fire.

In the game, the Pr. 11540 retains the primary weakness of its class: poor armor and low survivability. Use cover and avoid direct exposure to artillery fire to stay alive, and deploy countermeasures against incoming missiles from enemy vessels. Prioritize protection to secure victory!

Premium version of the Pr. 11540 (Rank VI)

In the Ship Campaign, only one ship can be taken into battle. Because of this, the Premium version of any ship is not a separate unit, but it completely replaces the standard “gray” version. After obtaining the premium version, the blueprints for the standard version of the ship will disappear from the store and trophies, and the ship itself will become unavailable in trophies and jackpots.

Differences between the Premium and Standard versions:

the ability to get gold after a battle, according to the daily limit;
unique premium camouflage;
fully unlocked upgrades in the Arsenal;
the ship gets the maximum crew level immediately.

Premium version of the vehicle:

As a jackpot or as a random reward when attempting to open the Big Trophy.
By reaching the top-10 in the relevant Leaderboard.
From the Collector's Trophy after adding the vehicle to this trophy type;

Standard version of the vehicle:

As a jackpot or as a random reward when attempting to open the Medium Trophy.
Order vehicles for Silver Lions after collecting 1,000 blueprints.

Ways to get blueprints:

From the Medium Trophy: 700 pcs in the guaranteed reward, or 10 to 100 pcs per attempt.
From the Big Trophy: 700 pcs in the guaranteed reward, or 80 to 200 pcs per attempt.
In the in-game store: purchase for Silver Lions a Folder with a number of blueprints (even after the season ends).
