The Big and Medium Trophies contain a British nuclear submarine, fast, stealthy, and armed with a devastating missile strike.
The nuclear submarine HMS Astute is the lead vessel of her class and the largest attack submarine ever built for the Royal Navy. Construction began in January 2001 at the BAE Systems shipyard in Barrow-in-Furness. She was launched in June 2007, departed the yard in November 2009, and arrived at her home base in Faslane. In February 2010, she began sea trials and completed her first dive.
Despite long project timelines and major cost overruns, HMS Astute became a technological breakthrough for the British submarine fleet and set the standard for subsequent vessels in her class.
One of the UK’s most advanced submarines is arriving in War Thunder Mobile – HMS Astute, a fast and lethal nuclear-powered vessel built for skilled and daring naval commanders.
Like all nuclear submarines in the game, HMS Astute offers exceptional endurance. Unlike many of its counterparts, it is faster underwater not only than diesel-electric boats but also than many surface combatants of its rank. At periscope depth, its speed decreases, yet it retains a wide range of tactical options, from cautious long-range strikes to aggressive maneuvers in the heat of battle.
HMS Astute’s primary armament is the Tomahawk cruise missile – a new weapon type in War Thunder Mobile. These missiles deal massive damage to surface targets but must be launched at periscope depth. The submarine also features six bow-mounted torpedo tubes, with a total loadout of 38 torpedoes.
HMS Astute combines powerful guided weaponry, long underwater endurance, and high speed, making it one of the most dangerous and effective submarines in the game.
Future commanders of this vessel must account for its large size and heightened vulnerability when surfaced. Constant awareness of the battlefield is critical to surface safely – whether to replenish air or launch a barrage of anti-ship Tomahawks.
In the Ship Campaign, only one ship can be taken into battle. Because of this, the Premium version of any ship is not a separate unit, but it completely replaces the standard “gray” version. After obtaining the premium version, the blueprints for the standard version of the ship will disappear from the store and trophies, and the ship itself will become unavailable in trophies and jackpots.
