[Event] Operation Torch

Commanders! We invite you to take part in a special event dedicated to the Operation Torch, which allowed the Allies to pass through North Africa!

Event dates: 🚩 November 7th – November 13th (ends at 10:00 GMT).

Join the themed event and receive 230,000 Silver Lions in total, a supply of boosters, Back-Ups and unique title!

Tasks

The event will last for 7 days. 9 tasks will be available from the start of the event.

Fill up the progress bar and receive a good amount of silver and unique title.

Please note that after the end of the event, it will not be possible to obtain themed decorative rewards.

Historical Note

Operation Torch was the codename for the Allied (United States and United Kingdom) strategic amphibious landing in North Africa.

After the United States entered the Second World War, the Allies needed to open a second front against Germany. Due to a lack of resources for a direct assault across the English Channel, they decided to strike first at the Axis powers' weak points in the Mediterranean.

On November 8th 1942, U.S. and British forces, supported by the French Resistance, landed on the coasts of Algeria and Morocco. The main uncertainty was how the Vichy French troops, nominally allied with Germany, would fight back. The resistance was fierce but short-lived. Within a few days, thanks to political negotiations, the French forces ceased their resistance and switched to the Allied side.

Operation Torch successfully opened the second front and was a decisive step toward the complete liberation of Africa. It also paved the way for future Allied landings in Sicily and Normandy.
