- Role in battle: A versatile and highly survivable fighting vehicle, equally capable of spearheading active engagements and providing reliable support to allies.
In Battle
The BMPT "Terminator" is a formidable support vehicle built on the T-90 chassis. An unmanned turret with twin 30 mm autocannons and ATGMs is combined with protection exceptional for its class: Relikt ERA, slat armor around the engine-transmission compartment, and a crew sheltered behind tank-grade armor. The vehicle shrugs off autocannon fire, and even armor-piercing rounds cannot always penetrate it.
In battle, its main argument is firepower. The 30 mm cannons prove effective not only against light vehicles, but also for engaging tanks from the side and rear with armor-piercing belts. The key trump card is four 9M120 guided missiles with high-explosive fragmentation or tandem warheads.
The price of all this protection is a catastrophically low reverse speed, so the first shots you fire must be accurate. The Terminator excels in a second-line role, providing direct support to allied tanks, shielding flanks from light vehicles, and burning through even the most advanced enemy tanks with its missiles.
BMPT-72 (Rank XII)
Brief Overview
- Strengths: Good protection, effective ATGMs, and 30 mm autocannons.
- Weaknesses: Small crew and low reverse speed.
- Role in battle: A capable support vehicle that can operate independently. Exceptional protection for its class, combined with strong armament, makes the Terminator-2 one of the most formidable vehicles on the battlefield!
In Battle
The BMPT-72 "Terminator-2" combines tank-grade protection with powerful missile and gun armament. Composite armor with ERA and slat screens makes it perhaps the most protected "ATGM carrier" in the game, while the ATGM launch containers are shielded by armored casings.
In battle, the main trump card is the "Ataka" ATGM with tandem and high-explosive fragmentation warheads, plus a pair of 30 mm autocannons with a choice of shells: high-explosive fragmentation against light vehicles and aircraft, and armor-piercing sub-caliber rounds against serious targets.
The vehicle is effective both in supporting allies and while solo, but its crew is reduced to three and its negligible reverse speed punish positioning mistakes, so quickly retreating behind cover won't be an option.
