Commanders! Three years ago – on August 15th, 2023 – War Thunder Mobile launched worldwide on Android and iOS.
From August 13th to August 20th, 10:00 (GMT), take part in the themed event and claim fantastic anniversary vehicles, generous gifts, and a unique gaming experience!
During the event, you can:
- Fight in special vehicles on themed maps in the “Battle Royale” mode.
- Receive daily login gifts.
- Fill the “endless” event Battle Pass progress bar.
- Complete exciting birthday tasks.
- Launch colorful fireworks.
- Exchange Anniversary Bonds for new vehicles in festive camouflage, decorations, and other valuable rewards from current and previous seasons.
- Enjoy new gameplay experiences, earn victories, and celebrate your favorite game's birthday together!
Battle Royale
Welcome to the special event mode – “Battle Royale”. The rule is simple: only one commander will survive. Destroy your opponents, collect upgrades scattered across the map, stay within the shrinking safe zone, and be the last tank standing!
Important features of the birthday mode:
- Join the battle by pressing the “To battle!” button in the lower right corner in the event window;
- Choose from a selection of special event vehicles upon joining a session: AMX-30B2 BRENUS, M60A3 TTS, T-69 II G, C2A1, XM1 (GM), Т-72АВ (TURMS-T), Merkava Mk.2B. Note that ammunition selection is more limited than on standard tech tree vehicles.
- Each battle is fought in a single vehicle with no respawns.
- Crates scattered across the battlefield contain three types of upgrades: Training Materials (improve crew skills by 50%), Repair Resources (repair your tank and restore your crew), and Reconnaissance Data (call in an artillery strike and reveal the exact location of nearby enemies).
- Special crates containing armor-piercing shells are dropped by parachute – watch the sky and monitor the minimap for marked landing zones.
- To collect a crate, stop alongside it and wait until the progress bar fills. Interrupting the interaction resets the progress – meaning you can steal loot from an enemy. If multiple players reach a landing zone simultaneously, only the first to complete the progress bar claims the reward.
- Keep an eye on the safe zone boundaries. Orange boundaries indicate the zone is about to shrink. Red boundaries indicate the danger zone, any tank remaining beyond the boundary when the timer expires will be destroyed.
- Once the safe zone shrinks to a single square, artillery strikes become unavailable.
- Results from event battles do not count towards seasonal tasks, leaderboards, or player statistics.
- Match points are awarded based on the amount of time your tank survives in battle. The winner receives the maximum point total.
- All points earned in battle contribute to filling the event Battle Pass progress bar.
Tasks and Battle Pass
Tasks are available from the first day of the event. By completing a task with a low difficulty level, you will receive the next task with a higher difficulty level.
In total, during the event, you can get:
- 5,000 pcs – for 1-15 steps of the Battle Pass;
- 50 pcs – for each subsequent step of the Battle Pass.
All points earned in Battle Royale will go toward filling the festive Battle Pass progress bar. You can collect enough bonds to purchase all the anniversary rewards you want, even if you don't win a single match or complete all the event tasks.
Get event bonds by completing Battle Pass steps! Purchasing the Event Pass will allow you to collect more bonds and receive additional rewards: a themed avatar and a decorator.
You can purchase missing bonds with Platinum Wolves by clicking on the “plus” sign next to the event currency icon in the store.
Fireworks
You can shoot off fireworks in tank and ship modes. After using fireworks, one random player in the battle will receive a “WTM Happy Birthday!” match award and a bonus of 10,000 Silver Lions after the battle no matter the result of the battle.
Event Rewards
Exchange event bonds for vehicles, cosmetic items, camouflage patterns, valuable items, and consumables in the event store!
The store will close on August 20th at 10:00 (GMT), one hour after the event ends.
New vehicles
2S19M2 (Rank VII) – a modernized version of the "Msta-S" introduced in 2013, featuring a new fire control system and an increased rate of fire of up to 10 rounds per minute. These self-propelled howitzers have seen active use in combat operations.
Strengths: Excellent selection of powerful ammunition (HE, APHEBC, HEAT), high rate of fire, and good mobility.
Weaknesses: Weak armor, large size, and slow gun traverse.
Role in battle: A dynamic SPH for engaging from the second line.
Pr. 1239 (Rank VI) – a small missile ship with an air-cushion system, developed by the Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau. The lead ship, "Bora," joined the Black Sea Fleet in 1989, only two units of this unique class were ever built.
Strengths: Four Moskit anti-ship missiles with fast salvo reload, high speed and good maneuverability, small size.
Weaknesses: Low survivability, low artillery effectiveness.
Role in battle: A high-speed missile ship for engaging large surface targets.
F-89D (Rank IX) – an American fighter-interceptor developed by Northrop in the early 1950s. The D variant received rocket armament instead of cannons and new engines with afterburners. A total of 682 aircraft were built.
Strengths: Powerful afterburning engines providing high speed and climb rate; unique armament of 104 FFAR Mighty Mouse M439 unguided rockets.
Weaknesses: No cannon armament and significant rocket spread.
Role in battle: A high-speed interceptor for long-range attacks on level-flying targets.
Event Camouflages
To mark the game's third anniversary, our artists and designers have created celebratory camouflages for vehicles from past events. All vehicles from previous years are available in the store until the end of the event.
If you have yet to obtain the Pr. 903 Lun-class ekranoplan, the TOG II tank, or the BV 238 bomber, this event is your opportunity. And if these vehicles are already in your hangar, you can refresh their appearance with a set of striking predator-themed camouflages!
Battle Royale Camouflages
For the duration of the event, you have the opportunity to purchase unique thematic camouflages for all tanks featured in the Battle Royale mode.
Seven new camouflages are available for the following vehicles: AMX-30B2 BRENUS, M60A3 TTS, T-69 II G, C2A1, XM1 (GM), Т-72АV (TURMS-T), Merkava Mk.2B.
All new camouflages can be obtained by opening event Trophies or purchased in the shop using event bonds.
Please note that after the event ends, unused event currency will NOT be automatically converted into Golden Eagles or Silver Lions. You may spend it in the event store until August 20 at 10:00 GMT.
