Historical Note

Following the successful deployment of the base Centauro during peacekeeping operations in the Balkans and Africa, the Iveco-Oto Melara consortium began work on an improved variant. The principal innovation was the installation of a new Hitfact turret mounting a 120 mm gun, significantly increasing the vehicle’s firepower and bringing it closer to the level of contemporary main battle tanks.

Although the Italian Army did not adopt this variant, it found a buyer abroad. In 2008, Oman placed an order for six vehicles under the designation Centauro RGO. This version introduced several improvements over the original: a more powerful engine, an upgraded air conditioning system suited to hot-climate operations, additional protection for the machine guns, and a distinctive desert camouflage scheme. In November 2009, Oman ordered a further three vehicles, bringing the total number of Centauro RGOs delivered to nine.

In battle

The latest addition to the Centauro family of wheeled tank destroyers, the RGO is a variant specially designed for operation in the demanding climate of the Arabian Peninsula, serving with the Royal Guard of Oman.

At Rank XIII, armor is not the primary concern – speed and accuracy decide everything. The Centauro RGO fits this formula perfectly. Its core assets are mobility and firepower. The wheeled chassis propels the vehicle to speeds exceeding 120 km/h on paved roads, allowing you to reach key positions ahead of most opponents.

The modern CL3143 APFSDS rounds, with nearly 600 mm of penetration, can reliably defeat the frontal armor of most top-tier tanks, while making short work of lighter armored vehicles.

Playing the Centauro RGO means living at high speed. Secure advantageous or unexpected positions early in the battle, from which you can control key lines of approach.

Relocate after every shot, deny the enemy time to aim, and avoid prolonged engagements – this vehicle does not forgive mistakes. Move, aim, fire, and repeat.

The Centauro RGO is one of the finest wheeled light tanks in the game, combining exceptional speed with a powerful gun and the ability to actively shape the course of a battle. Premium version of the Centauro RGO (Rank XIII)

The Premium variant is an extra tank for your hangar! The premium tank maintains the same performance as the standard variant, though it comes in a unique camouflage. With this premium tank you’ll be able to enjoy faster Silver Lion and Research Point gains, and earn some Golden Eagles in your battles.

If you’re lucky enough to unlock both the premium and the standard variants, you will be able to use them both in the same battle!
